Easy Counter (Mantra Chanting) · Last updated: 26 August 2026
This policy explains what the Easy Counter (Mantra Chanting) app (the “App”), published by Native Software (“we”, “us”, “our”), does with information. It applies to the App on Android and iOS.
Counter names, counts, rounds, session history, reminders, mala choices, sounds and settings are stored locally on your device in the App’s own storage. We do not receive a copy.
If you enable backup, a copy is written to cloud storage in your own account (see section 5). If you never enable backup, this data stays only on your device.
A chant you record yourself is part of this. It is written to the App’s own storage on your device, played back only by you, and never uploaded to us or to any third party. Deleting the sound in the App, or uninstalling the App, removes it.
To keep the App working and to keep it free, the following is collected by the services listed in section 4:
| What | Why | Collected by |
|---|---|---|
| Device model, OS version, language, country, screen size | Compatibility, layout and translation decisions | Firebase, AdMob |
| App events — screens opened, features used, counts completed, backups run | Understanding which features are worth keeping and improving | Firebase Analytics |
| Crash reports and error diagnostics, including a stack trace and app state at the time | Finding and fixing crashes | Firebase Crashlytics |
| Performance traces — start-up time, screen rendering, network timing | Diagnosing slowness | Firebase Performance Monitoring |
| Advertising identifier and approximate (IP-derived) location | Serving and measuring advertisements | Google AdMob |
| A push token | Delivering occasional service or content messages | Firebase Cloud Messaging |
We do not collect your name, phone number, contacts, precise GPS location, photos, or the audio on your device.
| Permission | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
| Internet / network state | Advertisements, cloud backup, analytics, checking for updates |
| Vibrate | Optional haptic feedback on each count |
| Notifications | Practice reminders and the optional daily quote. Requested only when you first enable a reminder |
| Run at start-up (Android) | Re-registering your reminders after the device restarts, so they keep firing |
| Microphone | Only to record your own chant for the Play mode, and only from the moment you tap record. The recording is saved on your device and is never uploaded to us or to anyone else. A take you do not keep is deleted immediately. The App does not listen at any other time |
| Calendar (read and write) | Only to mirror a practice reminder into your own calendar, and only from the moment you turn that toggle on. The App writes one event per reminder, updates it when you change the time, and deletes it when you turn the toggle off. Read access is needed solely to list the calendars you can write to, so you can pick one. We do not read, store or transmit any of your existing events |
| Photo library (iOS) | Only so the system file picker can open when you choose a custom chanting sound. We do not read your photos |
| Tracking (iOS) | Asked via Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. Declining means you still see ads, just less relevant ones |
These services may receive information as described above. Each has its own privacy policy:
Backup is optional and off until you turn it on. Your backup goes to your own account and we have no access to it.
If you enable backup, you sign in with Google and we request only two narrow permissions:
drive.file and drive.appdata. These allow the App to see and manage
only the files it creates itself. The App cannot see, read or touch any other file
in your Drive. We store your Google account email on the device so it can show you which account is
connected. You can disconnect at any time in the App, or revoke access at
myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Backups are written to the App’s own iCloud container in your iCloud account, managed entirely by Apple. We never receive your Apple ID or its credentials.
The free version shows advertisements supplied by Google AdMob, which may use an advertising identifier to serve and measure ads. You can control this:
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined under United States state privacy laws.
Practice reminders and the daily quote are generated on your device — their schedule and content are not sent to us. We may occasionally send a service or content message through Firebase Cloud Messaging. You can turn any of these off in the App’s settings or in your device settings.
Subscriptions and purchases are processed entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see or store your payment card details. The App keeps a record on your device of what you purchased and when it expires, so it knows whether to show ads. Billing terms are described in our Terms & Conditions.
EasyCounterBackup folder in Google Drive; on iOS, delete the Easy Counter folder in the Files app.To have any data we hold about you deleted, email us at the address in section 13.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with a regulator. This includes rights under the EU/UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Because we hold no account and no copy of your practice data, most of that data is already entirely in your hands — you can inspect or erase it directly on your device. For anything else, contact us and we will respond within the period required by applicable law.
Where we rely on a legal basis under the GDPR, it is our legitimate interest in keeping the App working, secure and financially sustainable, and your consent where consent is required — for example for personalised advertising.
The service providers named above operate globally and may process information on servers outside your country, including in the United States. They apply their own safeguards for such transfers, including standard contractual clauses where required.
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your practice data stays on your device, protected by your device’s own security. Data in transit to the services above is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The App and this site may link elsewhere. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please read their policies.
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do, and material changes will be highlighted in the App or on this page.
