## What it is

Easy Counter is a counting app for repeated practice: japa, mantra chanting, tasbih,
rosary, breath counts, affirmations or any other repetition. A counter is a name, a
count per round (108 by default) and a target, so the round size is the user's to set.

## The four counting modes

- **Tap** — a full-screen target; the count fills the screen.
- **Button** — the phone's volume keys count, so the screen can stay dark or pocketed.
- **Mala** — a 3D strand moved bead by bead with the thumb, one swipe per count. It only
  advances forward. Six bead designs: Rudraksha, Tulsi, Sphatik, Sandalwood, Coral, Pearl.
  The strand can be set to the left or right hand.
- **Play (auto-play)** — repeats a chant or tone the user adds, counting each repetition.

Switching modes does not lose the count.

## Other features

- Rounds and targets, with a configurable counts-per-round (108 by default).
- A chanting timer that starts on the first count and reports average seconds per count.
- Daily streaks, lifetime totals, day/week/month/year history and CSV export. Past
  sessions can be added by hand.
- Per-counter reminders on chosen days and times, with an optional follow-up nudge every
  two hours until the user has counted — never at night.
- Meditation sittings: **Silent** (eyes closed, nothing to watch) and **Focused** (gaze
  resting on a dot, a soft coloured light, or a candle flame for trataka). Lengths from
  5 to 60 minutes or open-ended, with a bell at the end. Music, guided sittings and
  chakra work are announced as coming soon.
- Backup and restore to the user's own Google Drive (Android) or iCloud Drive (iOS),
  automatic when due, plus manual export/import.
- Light and dark themes, following the system setting or pinned.
- 31 languages, including right-to-left scripts.

## Price and ads

Free to download and use, with every feature included, supported by ads. An optional
one-time Premium purchase removes the ads. It is a one-time payment, not an
auto-renewing subscription.

## Privacy

No account is required, ever. Counters, counts, history and settings are stored on the
user's own device. If backup is enabled, the copy goes to the user's own Google Drive or
iCloud Drive — not to a Native Software server. Native Software cannot see what or how
much a user chants. Analytics and crash reporting are used to fix problems, and
advertising keeps the app free. Personal information is not sold.

## Common questions

**Is it free?** Yes — every feature, supported by ads. A one-time Premium purchase
removes ads.

**Can I count without looking at the screen?** Yes — volume keys (Button mode), or
auto-play, which counts each repetition of a sound for you.

**Does it have a real mala?** Yes — a 3D strand of beads swiped one at a time, in six
bead materials, placed under the left or right thumb.

**Do I need an account?** No. Nothing to sign up for; data stays on the device.

**Will my counts survive a new phone?** Yes, via backup to the user's own cloud account,
then restore on the new device.
